A Cantonment as defined in the dictionary means the temporary quarters of troop. In the first quarter of the 19th century Local Govt. were promulgated. By regulation III of 1809, the control was vested in the officer commanding troops for maintenance of peace within the limits of Cantonments with the support of police. Cantonments were originally Military Campus/Stations but were fast developing in to military towns. The commanding officers were to fix the limits of the Cantonments and Military Bazaars in consultation with the Dist. Magistrate. The regulation provided for the demarcation of area within which strict rules were to be enforced by the officer commanding in consultation with Magistrates were framed in Bombay & Madras Presidencies. Application from eligible candidates are hereby invited for the recruitment of following posts in the Cantonment Board Belgaum. Must be a holder of Bachelor Degree in Nursing from an institution recognized by the State Board / Govt. OR
(i) PUC 2nd Year (Senior Secondary) Pass;
(ii) Must possess a certificate in General Nursing course of not less than three years

(iii) Must possess a certificate in Midwifery or psychiatric Nursing course of not less
than 6 months duration. AND
The registration in Karnataka Nursing Council is mandatory.
