India Post, previously known as Department of Post, is a government-operated postal system in India, which is under the jurisdiction of Ministry of Communications. Generally called "the Post Office" in India, it is the most widely distributed postal system in the world. Warren Hastings had taken initiative under East India Company to start the Postal Service in the country in 1766. It was initially established under the name "Company Mail". It was later modified into a service under the "Crown" in 1854 by Lord Dalhousie. Dalhousie introduced uniform postage rates (universal service) and helped to pass the India Post Office Act 1854 which significantly improved upon 1837 Post Office act which had introduced regular post offices in India. Through this latest Ministry of Communications, Department of Posts, India recruitment, Offline Applications are invited from eligible and desirous candidates for fill up 11 vacancies for the posts of Staff Car Driver (Ordinary Grade).

Qualification
-Possession of a valid driving license for light & heavy motor vehicles.
-Knowledge of Motor mechanisms. (The candidate should be able to remove minor defects in the vehicle).
-Experience driving Light and heavy motor vehicles for at least three years
-Pass in 10th standard from a recognized Board or Institute.
Age Limit
For UR & EWS: 18 to 27 years
For SC & ST : Relaxable by 5 years
For OBC : Relaxable by 3 years

Eligible candidates are invited to submit their applications in the prescribed format found in Annexure-l. Along with the application, candidates should affix a recent passport-size photograph and enclose an Indian Postal Order of Rs. 100/- obtained from any Post Office as the application fee. The application, clearly marked “APPLICATION FOR RECRUITMENT TO THE POST OF STAFF CAR DRIVER (ORDINARY GRADE),” should be placed in an envelope and sent to the following address: “Asstt Director (Estt/Rectt), O/o Chief Postmaster General, M.P. Circle Bhopal-462027.” The application must be sent via SPEED POST or REGISTERED POST ONLY and should arrive no later than the closing date, which is 24th November 2023.
